Manytle: From Fine Art to Pixelated Cats
Meet artist Manytle.
Manytle, the talented crypto artist from Chiang Mai, Thailand, is no stranger to us. We’ve been collaborating on cat animations, and her excellent artwork is witty and evocative. With a background in fine arts and design, Manytle brings something truly special to the digital art world and continues to hone her craft. She often speaks proudly of her inspiration, Tungmeng, a calico cat who appears in nearly all her art. From her start as a graphic designer to becoming a full-time NFT artist, Manytle’s story is filled with passion, perseverance, and a deep love for her furrends. We’re lucky to have Manytle share what she’s been up to, what inspires her work, and much more.
A little bit about me
My name is Manytle. I am a full-time NFT artist from Chiang Mai, Thailand. In 2012, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a major in Painting from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University. After that, in 2016, I got a master’s degree in Design Innovation from Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand.
In my spare time, after drawing, I often make crafts, such as crocheting or embroidery. Sometimes, I enjoy watching content about cute and funny animals, and movies or series, or listening to music to relax.
My art
Before venturing into the world of NFTs, I began my career as a graphic designer, motion designer, and video editor for a private company in Bangkok, Thailand. It wasn’t until September 2021 that I discovered NFTs and started making art around them. Over a year, I experimented with creating NFTs, experiencing successes and setbacks. However, I found it enjoyable and fulfilling, leading me to leave my regular job and become a full-time NFT artist.
My main NFT character is a three-colored Thai cat named Tungmeng, who has passed away and now resides in the cat galaxy. My fond memories of Tungmeng make me feel that I can still connect with her every day by drawing her. I have recently incorporated other cats I’ve raised into my artwork.
My art style encompasses digital painting and motion graphics. I have chosen to focus on creating artwork in the pixel art style.
My cat Tungmeng
Tungmeng was still a tiny kitten when she came to our house. My mother found her hiding from the rain in the bushes in front of our house. We thought someone might have abandoned her because we had many cats at home. At that time, I was still working in Bangkok. It was strange that when I first met Tungmeng during my visit home, she wasn’t afraid of me at all. She approached me and sat on my lap, which was unusual since she would normally run away from strangers. I came to believe that she might be the reincarnation of my dog, who had passed away. Every time I came home, she would do the same thing, even waking me up in the morning. This made me feel a deep bond with her. However, she stayed with our family for only seven years. She became ill and passed away.
I hope you will love and remember Tungmeng, the cat, and her friends, and that seeing my artwork brings you joy.
